The Town of Elizabeth has teamed up with the 911 Authority Board, Fire Departments and Elbert County to implement CodeRED, an emergency notification system via phone, a service FREE to Elbert County residents. There are two components to this system:
The CodeRED emergency notification system is a communication service available for emergency and non-emergency notifications. CodeRED employs intranet mapping capable of geographic targeting of calls, coupled with a telephone calling system capable of delivering a pre-recorded message directly to homes and businesses at the rate of up to 60,000 calls per hour. The system's main purpose is to notify citizens or groups of citizens in emergency situations; however the system has the ability to be used for non-emergency notifications as well.
Examples of when the CodeRED system might be exercised by County or Town Municipalities: Boil Water Rule, Evacuations, Bomb Threat, Chemical Spill, Gas Leak, Significant Police Activity in the Area, or Missing Child Reports.
CodeRED WEATHER WARNING will deliver severe weather warnings to your telephone and/or cell phone within seconds after being issued by the National Weather Service.
All Elbert County residents are strongly encouraged to sign –up for the service. Individuals have the option of having mobile devices utilized for communication This is a FREE service to the consumer and can make you aware of critical situations in your area.
